2G2 was born out of a shared frustration with the status quo in the business consulting industry. Our founding team—Stephen Bried, David Steckel, Patrick Teague, and Rudiger Merz—were seasoned professionals with extensive experience in their respective fields. Despite their success, they grew disillusioned with the companies they worked for, which often over-promised and under-delivered, leaving clients feeling disappointed and skeptical. Worse yet, these companies didn’t seem troubled by falling short of expectations—integrity and work ethic were missing ingredients.

Stephen Bried, with a background in GTM Strategy, Marketing & Sales Advisory, and RevOps, was the driving force behind the idea of creating a company that truly delivered on its promises. David Steckel, with his decades of experience and wisdom, provided strategic practicality, while Patrick Teague, a dynamic and innovative thinker, brought a fresh perspective to the table. Rudiger Merz completed the picture with his storied history in private equity, banking, and venture capital. Finally, Ruth Roylance, an ideal client-turned-partner, sought financial freedom with our innovative solutions and became a partner to further our mission to help others like herself.

The turning point came when the team realized that many clients’ objections stemmed from a deep-seated belief that what they were being offered was “too good to be true.” This insight inspired Stephen to create 2G2—an abbreviation for “Too Good To” (Be True)—with the mission of building businesses that provide unbelievable value and actually deliver.
